Exciting weekend ahead

IMG_0403What a fun weekend we have to look forward to! Jemima’s Gift is delighted to be sponsoring the Shepherd Group Youth Band on their very first tour and will be welcoming them to Wiltshire for a long weekend. They arrive on Thursday to stay at Braeside in Devizes and will have a packed schedule for three days, including a joint concert with Strings Incognito, a busking session in Devizes Market Place on Friday morning, a trip to Stonehenge, a brass workshop on Saturday and a ceilidh to finish off with on Saturday evening. All of this has been made possible by your generosity, together with the support of Strings Incognito, for which are extremely grateful.

We are thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity for the young brass players from Yorkshire, many of whom would be unable to experience a tour like this without financial support. If you are able to join in at all over the weekend, there are two opportunities for you to do so;

Friday 16th February

A free concert combining Strings Incognito and Shepherd Group Youth Brass Band at Yatton Keynell Village Hall at 7.30pm. This will be fun, relaxed and friendly with a wide range of popular and classical music and plenty of cake!

Saturday 17th February

All local brass players are invited to join the Shepherd Group Brass Youth Band, and their tutors, for a fun workshop from 11am until 4pm. The Band are a championship section Band with a highly acclaimed Youth section and this is a rare opportunity to experience tuition and music making with such a high quality group – don’t miss out!

The workshop takes place at Braeside in Devizes and welcomes players of all ages and standards. Please bring a packed lunch and your instrument for a really enjoyable day.
