A massive THANK YOU to you all for your incredible support to help Corey to travel to the 25th World Age Group Championships which were held in Bulgaria.
Corey competed as an individual on Saturday in the largest age group of eighty four 15/16 year old boys and then again on Sunday in the same age group in synchronised trampolining.
There were 938 athletes competing from delegations including the following countries: Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Spain, Finland, France, England, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania , Mexico, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, South Africa, Russia, Slovakia, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan and the host country, Bulgaria.
Each competition day had both prelims and finals for differing age groups across all four disciplines, Individual and Synchronised trampolining, DMT and tumbling.
Here is what Corey says about his performance;
“Worlds 2017 was rough to say the least.. unfortunately I crashed in my voluntary routine in prelims for the 15-16’s age group keeping me out of what would have been my 4th individual world final. No excuses and I’m disappointed in myself, but sadly this is the reality of the sport.
As always much love for everyone that’s supported me, especially my coaches, team mates, family and friends for inspiring me everyday, having my back through thick & thin and whom I couldn’t function without.
A big thank you goes out to everyone for your donations to help fund me to be able to compete at the 25th World Age Group Championships. I may not have brought back a medal but I am returning home with many lessons learned and a fresh drive for the year ahead of me!
Until the next one,
